Today, older adults are more health conscious than ever before. The YMCA offers seniors the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and a positive outlook on life. Active older adults live longer and have better functional conditioning. That is why the YMCA offers water exercise, yoga, SilverSneakers classes, stretching and toning classes, volunteer opportunities, and social events.
Our Active Older Adult (AOA) programs are designed for men and women in their 50s and older. We encourage everyone to grow in the areas of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Our active adult exercise classes promote fitness and well-being while fostering friendships and camaraderie. Our volunteer opportunities and social events help build lasting relationships and community ties that last a lifetime.

In all of our Active Older Adults classes the focus is friends, fitness and fun. There are classes suited for many different fitness levels. SilverSneakers is a chair based class that includes movement and strength work with weights, bands, and a ball.

Water Aerobics & Adult Swim Lessons
What would the Y be without water? Water exercise, adult swim lessons (it’s NEVER too late) and adapted exercise for those with disabilities or in rehabilitation are some of the water-based activities you’ll find at the Y where we believe if you can do it on land, you can do some version of it in the water!
