Child care and early learning programs at the Y focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn fundamental skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Y-Club Afterschool Program
The Y-Club Afterschool Program is a fun place to be with lots of positive staff interaction and learning opportunities. We provide a healthy afterschool snack, physical fitness time, homework help and a wide variety of other activities, including STEM and time to socialize with friends or play games.
School dismissal – 6 p.m.
Ages:Kindergarten – 8th grade
Weekly Cost:$45 members/$60 non-members
When there is a half day at school, we will still hold afterschool and pick up the children from school when they are dismissed. On School in-service days and student holidays we will hold All Day Outs and each participants must be registered by the Friday before to attend. Holiday breaks (Winter Break and Spring Break) are also registered and paid for separately.

Spring Break Camp
Cost: $115 for members/$155 for non-members per week
Ages: K5 – 8th Grade (5 – 14)
Spring Break Camp is a fun way for your children to enjoy spring break! There will be games, sports, arts and crafts, and STEM activities throughout the camp week. Meals are not included, so please be sure to pack your child a bag lunch, water bottle, and afternoon snack.
Dates: April 10-14
Times: Drop off starts at 7 am and pick-up by 6 pm (late fee of $1 per minute after 6:15 p.m.)
All Day Outs
Ages: 5 -12
Cost: $15 for members/$25 for non-members per day for non-afterschool participants
In-service days/student holidays are included in regular Afterschool weekly fees, except for Holiday Breaks (Winter Break and Spring Break), which are registered and paid for separately.
All participants must register for All Day Outs by the Friday before so that staff can prepare.
Times: Drop off starts at 7 am and pick-up by 6:15 pm.
A supervised area where children can play in a safe and caring environment while parents work out. Activities include playground time, music, arts and crafts and story time. Children may be checked into Child Watch for up to two hours per visit; parents must remain on YMCA premises.
Ages: 8 weeks to 4 years
Monday – Thursday: 7:45 a.m. – noon & 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:45 a.m. – noon & 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – noon
Non-members: $7 per child per visit
Adventure Club is supervised area where children play games such as Four Square and dodge ball, create arts and crafts projects, use our Wii and DDR all the while developing their social skills and self esteem. Parents check their children in and out of Adventure Club inside Justin’s Place. *Adventure Club is not available in the morning when school is in session.
Members: FREE with Family membership
Non-members: $7 per child / visit
Justin’s Place is a fun and exciting children’s entertainment experience at the NorthWest Family YMCA. Justin’s Place includes a huge indoor playground, video gaming area, parent lounge area – something for children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent to enjoy Justin’s Place if outside of Adventure Club hours.
Justin Pepper was born on December 1, 1995 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At the age of 2 his parents moved to Chapin, South Carolina. Justin was received in heaven on August 14th, 2007, as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. The YMCA of Columbia is proud to honor Justin’s memory with a great place for children of all ages to gather and play. Through “Play at Justin’s Place,” children will develop self-esteem, coordination and social skills to grow in spirit, mind and body.
2 – 12 years
Ages: 5 to 11 years
Fun Night is just that…A FUN NIGHT! Parents go out to eat, enjoy some time away, we’ve got your kids and they will love it! During this time, kids will enjoy games, crafts, music, physical activity, and much more! The price includes entry and pizza, drink, & chips.

Homeschool Swim & Gym
The YMCA Homeschool Swim and Gym program is a great way to work physical activity, healthy living, socialization and play into your homeschool curriculum. The goal of swim and gym classes for students is to have planned individual and cooperative physical activity and fitness assessments promoting the students’ optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social development. Participants will also learn sports and swimming skills while developing social relationships.
Day/time: Meets on Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
$35/YMCA members; $70/non-member
