The Columbia Fireflies Receive Spirit, Mind and Body Award from YMCA of Columbia at Annual Breakfast of Champions event

Columbia Fireflies’ leadership staff were presented with the Spirit, Mind and Body Award by the YMCA of Columbia at the Y’s annual Breakfast of Champions on August 4, 2016. 

The Spirit, Mind and Body Award goes to an individuals or organizations who consistently seek to enhance the lives of others.  

The YMCA of Columbia and the Columbia Fireflies share a singular vision of helping all youth reach their full potential in life making them natural partners. Together the Fireflies and the Y are leveraging excitement and passion around recreational and professional baseball programs to create a healthy outlet for children to gain new skills, develop a sense of team and connect with positive role models. From faith and family nights at Spirit Communications Park, reading programs at YMCA youth programs to promote literary, to the generous financial support of the Y’s youth sports programs, the Columbia Fireflies are supporting the spirits, minds and bodies of people throughout the Midlands. 

Columbia Fireflies President John Katz accepted the award on behalf of the Fireflies’ leadership team, including Brad Shank, Executive Vice President, Abby Naas, Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations, and Kyle Williamson, Assistant Director of Ticketing & Reading Program Manager.
