Cartoon Drawing for Beginners
Saturdays from 2:00 – 2:45 pm | Ages 6-12
Focus is on the basics of cartoon drawings. Participants will use pencils and crayons to draw and color cartoons. | Week 1: Basic lines and shapes; Week 2: Cartoon faces and expressions; Week 3: Cartoon hair, body, and accessories; Week 4: Drawing full cartoon (add color and value)
Fee: $30 Members | $40 Nonmembers (4 Week Lesson)
Still Life Drawing for Beginners
Saturdays from 3:00 – 3:45 pm | Ages 13-99
Learn the basics of still life drawings. Participants will use pencils to make 2D shapes appear 3D. | Week 1: Basic lines and shapes; Week 2: Adding value to 2D shapes; Week 3: Still life (identifying shapes); Week 4: Still life (add shading and Value)
Fee: $30 Members | $40 Nonmembers (4 Week Lesson)
Figure Drawing for Beginners
Saturdays from 4:00 – 4:45 pm | Ages 13-99
Focus will be on the basics of Figure drawings. Participants will practice drawing a wooden figure at different angles using pencils to make 2D wooden figures appear 3D | Week 1: Basic lines and shapes; Week 2: Drawing wooden figure pose 1 (emphasize proportions); Week 3: Drawing wooden figure pose 2 (adding shading and value); Week 4: Drawing wooden figure pose 3
Fee: $30 Members | $40 Nonmembers (4 Week Lesson)
Private Lessons
Instructor: Courtney Quarles (aka Miss Q) has been drawing ever since she was a child. She has a bachelor’s degree in art education from South Carolina State University. Drawing with Miss Q is an art program that is geared towards getting the community to embrace the art form of drawing in an open and relaxed setting.
Times: Fridays 5-8 pm | Saturdays 5-6pm

30 minutes -1 session; $35 Members, $85 Nonmembers
30 minutes – 4 sessions; $140 Members, $190 Nonmembers
60 minutes – 1 session; $70 Members, $120 Nonmembers
60 minutes – 4 sessions; $280 Member, $330 Nonmembers
