The Orangeburg County YMCA is hosting a Christmas Craft Event on Friday, Dec. 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  This is a great way to spend some fun family time this holiday season.

Artist Courtney Quarles (Mrs. Q) will lead you in creating up to three Christmas Ornaments.  We will provide all the materials, all you need to do is bring a little imagination and creativity.

The cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.  You’ll want to sign-up soon because space is limited.  Registration ends Dec. 6!

  • Personal Training – Check with your favorite Y location and ask them how you can get started with personal training.  The Y hires only Certified Personal Trainers, who have the knowledge and skill to help you meet your needs, whether it is losing weight, building muscle, or simply to feel better.
  • Group Exercise ClassesWorking out with group is almost always more fun! Group workouts can provide the motivation you need from the class instructor and even fellow participants.  The Y offers a wide variety of classes including dance workouts, yoga, Pilates, step, cycle, core, active older adult workouts, water aerobics and more! We also offer a lineup of Les Mills courses including GRIT, BODYPUMP, CORE, GRIT, BODYATTACK and RPM.
  • Swim LessonsSwim is an excellent cardio workout that is easy on your joints. The Y offers swim lessons from 6 months to adult. Whether you’re looking to learn to swim for the first time or wanting to improve your technique, we have swim instructors that can help.
  • Latest Wellness Equipment – Prefer to go it alone? Whether you prefer running on a treadmill, cycling beside a friend, reading while on an elliptical trainer, lifting free weights or using strength training equipment, you can do it at the Y.

ABOUT THE ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

The YMCA of Columbia 2022 Annual Campaign is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those around you and help build a safer, stronger, and healthier community.

Donations to the Annual Campaign go directly to create scholarships for those in our community who need the Y’s lifesaving services the most and the Y never turns anyone away based on ability to pay.

Come run, jog, or walk with us at the Festival of Roses Road Race 5K on Saturday, May 7! Proceeds benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to those in our community who need the Y’s life-changing programs and services the most. The Y’s community support addresses many issues such as chronic diseases, swim safety, and senior feeding programs.

Come run, jog, or walk with us at the Race to Remember 5K on Saturday, May 28!

The YMCA of Columbia Race to Remember is a 5K Run/Walk and Kids1-Mile Fun Run that takes place in Historic Downtown Columbia on Saturday, May 28.  This race is great for all levels of ability and ages. Participants are encouraged to carry a flag or wear dog-tags to remember and honor military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve the United States of America. 

All race proceeds support the Y’s Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to those who need the Y’s life-changing programs and services the most. Part of the proceeds from this year’s race will go towards YMCA Membership Scholarships for Veterans. The Y also offers reduced membership for military personnel through our partnership with Fort Jackson.
