Childwatch Staff The Childwatch Staff of the Jeep Rogers YMCA will uphold the standard of ensuring that all programs operate in a quality manner consistent with the Y mission, cause, and values. ChildWatch Staff are responsible for supervising and interacting with children participating in the ChildWatch program while providing a high quality recreational experiences for all participants. The position serves an important role in creating community amongst members and facilitating a safe and welcoming environment.
1. Responsible for the safety and well being of all ChildWatch participants. 2. Performs general housekeeping tasks and ensures that site and program areas are clean and well organized 3. Complies with all Association and branch specific policies and procedures. 4. Provides a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all children. 5. Assist children in variety of areas including, but not limited to, interactive play, arts & crafts, washing hands, using the restroom, picking up belongings. 6. Insure parents/guardians comply with the drop off and pick up procedures. 8. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. 9. Maintains a professional appearance at all times by adhering to the Childwatch Dress Code.
1.Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities 2. Certifications: a. Child Abuse Prevention Training (within 30 days of hire) b. CPR/AED, Oxygen and First Aid (within 30 days of hire) c. Blood borne Pathogens Training (within 60 days of hire) 3. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills. 4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. 5. Minimum age of 16
Previous experience working with school aged children.
The physical demands of the position include: 1. Lead and participate in recreation activities which may include running, throwing and kicking. 2. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. in program equipment, tables, etc. 3. Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. 4. Ability to lead and interact in-group activities and perform related physical skills. 5. Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.
Pay Rate: Starting at $8.50 an hour
Work Dates/Times: May vary: M – F: 8:15am – 11:30am M – TH: 5:15pm – 8:30pm Saturday: 8:15am – 11:30am
