This position provides direct supervision to members in the gym/facility and acts a liaison to the Manager on Duty and front line staff. This person will help maintain positive attitudes, opinions and judgments by YMCA members, participants and staff. This person must be able to work with people and make decisions and judgments clearly and quickly.

 Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Maintains order and is person “in charge” in the gym. Checks membership / guest status and, in a customer friendly manner, removes anyone that is not a member or guest. Maintains a “family appropriate” atmosphere – no cursing, fighting, or inappropriate behavior – and handles any of those situations as they arise. Assumes leadership during any incidents, injuries or emergencies and fills out incident reports as needed. Engages with members and makes certain they feel safe and welcome at all times. Periodically assists other departments as needed (i.e. tours, bathroom breaks, towel bins emptied, etc.) Assists in keeping the facility clean and orderly. Performs other duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications: 

Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to get current CPR / First Aid / AED certifications.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience in member / customer service. Demonstrated leadership and high level of responsibility.

Pay Rate: $9.00 an hour

Work days and times: Monday through Friday 5-9pm, Sundays 1-530pm
