 Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in providing an appropriate safe, caring and enriching environment for children enrolled at the YMCA afterschool program and day camp. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that is focused on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Essential Functions: • Assists in implementing program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values. Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, assists with establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. • Works with the Youth Development Director on protocols to ensure YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed, including those related to disciplinary situations and injuries are reported in a timely manner. • Prepares materials, activities, and environments as necessary. Assists in preparing and serving snacks and adheres to cleanliness standards. • Assists in recruiting and hiring diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. • Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. • Attends staff meeting and trainings • Oversees the care of children during Parents’ Night Out. • Performs other duties as assigned.  Required Qualifications: 

Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities. • Ability to work with others in a team environment • Previous experience working with children varying in age. • At least 21 years of age. • Praesidium training prior to start of 1st shift. CPR within 60 days of hire. • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred B.A. in Education, Youth Devlopement, Social Work< Program Management, or related fields.

Physical Demands: 

Ability to plan, lead and participate in a variety of indoor/outdoor settings. • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. in program equipment, tables, etc

Pay Rate: $12.50

Work Dates and Times: Monday-Friday 11am-6pm
