Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, Afterschool Counselors will provide day-to-day direction and supervision of assigned program locations. Staff will manage groups of children ages 4-12 and leading small and large group interest clubs and homework help. Staff will uphold the standard of ensuring that all programs operate in a quality manner consistent with the Y mission, cause and values. Middle Richland One work locations include: A.C. Moore Elementary, Brennen Elementary, South Kilbourne Elementary, Rosewood Elementary
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated leadership qualities, project management, time management, organizational skills and detail oriented. 2. At least 16 years of age. 3. CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen and Child Abuse Prevention training before start of 1st shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two to three years child care or related experience and relevant experience in supervision and administration of youth programs.
Physical Demands:
May be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in the form of program equipment or a small child. May be required to be outside for long periods of time. Must possess good analytical, auditory, verbal, and visual capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone or in person.
Pay Rate: $10 an hour
Work Days and Times: typical schedule is 2pm-6pm Monday-Friday. times may vary on schools occasional early release/half days.
