Honoring Scott Balkcum as He Begins His Next Chapter
Please join us in celebrating Scott Balkcum, Vice President of Operations at the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA, on his incredible achievement—he has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer with the YMCA of Metropolitan Columbus, GA!
Scott has been a tremendous leader within our association, bringing steady guidance, strong operational expertise, and a heart for serving others. His impact has been felt across every corner of the Jeep Rogers branch, from youth programs and aquatics to membership experience and community engagement. Scott’s thoughtful leadership, deep care for staff, and commitment to the Y’s mission have strengthened our association in lasting and meaningful ways.
Before joining us in the Midlands, Scott built a distinguished career across Alabama and Georgia, beginning as a YMCA intern and rising through roles in aquatics, childcare, and operations. That experience—and the passion for the Y he developed as a child growing up in the Chattahoochee Valley—has prepared him well for this exciting next step.
While we will deeply miss his presence here at the YMCA of Columbia, we are incredibly proud to see Scott continue his journey as a leader within the Y movement. We know he will do remarkable things for the communities of Metropolitan Columbus.
