The YMCA of Columbia has three aquatic centers located throughout the association – offering Swim Lessons, Water Fitness, Family Swim, Youth Swim Teams, and Adult Masters Swim.

Swim Lessons

At the YMCA, we believe everyone should learn to swim. Knowing how to swim offers a great way to stay in shape, to stay safe and offers a lifetime of fun activities. At the YMCA of Columbia, we offer both group and private swim lessons at our Jeep Rogers, NorthWest and Orangeburg locations. All swim lessons are taught by certified swim instructors.

Group Lessons

The YMCA of Columbia offers group swim lessons for ages 3 months to adult. Lessons are available on weekdays and on Saturdays.

Cost Per Month
Weekdays: Members $50; Non-members $100
Saturday Only: Members $30; Non-members $60

Private Lessons

Private swim lessons are for an individual or a minimum of 2 participants (semi-private). Once registration is completed, Aquatics staff will be in contact to schedule your 30-minute session(s). Please allow up to 7 days for contact.

Packages: 1 Session – $25 Members, $35 Non-Members; 4 Sessions – $80 Members, $140 Non-Members; 8 Sessions – $145 members; 12 Sessions – $199 members

Water Fitness & Family Swim

The YMCA of Columbia offers a variety of water aerobics classes and family swim time opportunities. Please view our Group Exercise Schedule to find a class that fits your needs or see your Y’s Pool Schedule for Free Swim Times.

Youth League

The YMCA of Columbia Swim Club was formed in 1999 and is a YMCA and a USS year-round competitive swim team offering high-quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of the Mudcat Swim Team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to national competitor.

Masters Swimming

The YMCA Masters Swim program is designed to provide workouts for adults of all levels seeking to develop their technique, stroke mechanics, and overall physical fitness.
