The YMCA of Columbia has three aquatic centers located throughout the association – offering Swim Lessons, Water Fitness, Family Swim, Youth Swim Teams, and Adult Masters Swim.
At the YMCA of Columbia, we believe everyone should learn to swim. Knowing how to swim offers a great way to stay in shape, to stay safe, and offers a lifetime of fun activities. We have three aquatic centers located throughout the midlands –Jeep Rogers (Lake Carolina), NorthWest (Irmo), and Orangeburg County. Private swim lessons are for an individual or a minimum of 2 participants (semi-private). A parent or guardian must be present in the pool for children ages 2 and under. All swim lessons are taught by certified swim instructors

The YMCA of Columbia offers a variety of water aerobics classes as well as lap swim and family swim time opportunities at our Jeep Rogers (Lake Carolina), NorthWest (Irmo), and Orangeburg locations. Youth League – Mudcats
The YMCA of Columbia Swim Club was formed in 1999 and is a YMCA and a USS year-round competitive swim team offering high-quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of the Mudcat Swim Team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to national competitor.

The YMCA of Columbia Summer League Provides a competitive swim experience for boys and girls during the summer months. Swimmers practice five times a week for one-hour under the guidance of trained coaching staff. The primary objective is FUN while assisting the swimmer with improving the stroke and endurance in preparation of weekly meets and a championship meet at the end of the season. All Summer League swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards without assistance or grabbing the wall, rope, or ladder. Ages 4-18.

The YMCA Masters Swim program is designed to provide workouts for adults of all levels seeking to develop their technique, stroke mechanics, and overall physical fitness.
