ABOUT
Kirsten Coats has been a resident of the Columbia area for 20+ years. She is a long time member and supporter of the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA, where she began her wellness journey in high school.

“I am so amazed to see the growth of the Midlands community and I am excited to be a part of the continued growth of our Jeep Y,” says Kirsten.

After getting certified in personal training and various other fitness specialties/group exercise formats, Kirsten started her career at Jeep as an official certified personal trainer and class instructor in 2018.  For the past four years she has enjoyed getting to know and grow with members while teaching group exercise classes and through personal training sessions.

Kirsten has a B.A. in Graphic Design and a B.S. in Food and Nutrition Sciences which she completed while instructing 10-12 classes per week, working at two wellness facilities and volunteering as a coach for Girls On the Run. Her next goal is to complete her requirements to become a Registered Dietitian!

In her spare time she enjoys landscape photography, cooking, playing the cello, hiking, traveling, dance and aerial fitness.

The YMCA of Columbia has been fortunate to have Kirsten on our team part-time these last four years and we’re extremely excited to have her with us in a full time capacity.

Please feel free to reach out to Kirsten for your wellness needs and congratulate her on her new role as Healthy Living Director.
