Here for Our Community

It is amazing to see the outpouring of love and support for those affected by the weekend’s storms. At the Y, we are committed to being there for those who need us most, whether it be for a hot shower or a friend to talk to.

All YMCA of Columbia facilities are accepting donations of new and gently used clothing and bedding, bottled water, non-perishable food items, toiletries, and infant diapers and wipes. In addition, the Downtown Y is serving as a distribution site for families in need to pick up those items, and the Jeep Rogers Family Y is serving as a bottled water distribution site.

If you would like to assist in our efforts, we are looking for volunteers to sort through donations, help distribute donations, and simply be present for greeting and fellowship with those in need. Please contact Wendy Broderick at 803.603.8043 or wendybroderick@columbiaymca.org if you would like to volunteer or need assistance with donations.

A Flood Relief Fund has also been established here at the Y to support community needs and assist in providing Y membership scholarships to those affected. Every gift is tax-deductible and no amount is too small to help make a difference.
