What's Happening at the Y

Swordfish Summer Swim Team

The Jeep Rogers Family YMCA Summer Swim Team teaches the value of competition through teamwork, sportsmanship and doing one’s best. The Swordfish summer swim team provides a competitive experience for boys and girls in the summer months. Swimmers improve their strokes and build their endurance under the guidance of an excellent coaching staff.

Parent information meeting:
Friday, May 4, 4-7 p.m.
Saturday, May 10, 12-4 p.m.

Ages:
3-18 years

Registration:
Begins May 2 and is ongoing through the summer.

Members: $165
Non-members: 185
Discount for each additional sibling.

Season:
Practice begins May 12 and the season lasts through July 19.
Weekly meets with a Championship meet at the end of the season.

Adult Flag Football

Adult Flag Football

Adult Flag Football league open for all levels of play.  Total amount of players per team should be no more than 12. Each team is guaranteed 8 regular season games and 1 single elimination playoff game. Games will have two referees. Teams must have their own shirt-jersey similar to the rest of the team with number on the back.

Ages: 18 & up

Season: June 7 – August 9

Games: Saturday and Sunday evenings

Cost: $375 per team

Adult Indoor Soccer League

Adult Indoor Soccer League

Adult indoor soccer league for participants, open for all levels of play. Teams should be between 6 and 10 players. The league will be played 6 vs. 6 with 20-minute halves, governed by FIFA rules (with a few exceptions) and will play with an indoor felt ball size 5. Each team is guaranteed 8 regular season games and 1 single elimination tournament game.

Ages: 16 & up

Games: Friday and Saturday evenings

Season: June 6 – August 15

Cost: $350 per team

Summer Camp Swim Lessons

Swim lessons for summer campers!  We will break up participants by age group and swimming ability.  Campers will participate in swim lessons 3 days a week on non-field trip days.

Women & Weights Training Group

This small group personal training program will allow you to build confidence and get stronger as you meet with your trainer once a week.  You’ll meet new friends, build confidence and take your workout to a whole new level.

Days/Times:
The group will meet every Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Please note:  Monday & Friday are recommended days to meet as a group to complete the workout of the week.

Adult Co-ed Volleyball

An adult volleyball league for all levels of play. Teams should be no more than 9 players. Rules will be governed by USA Volleyball (with the exception of a few) to make the game safe and enjoyable for all.

Ages: 16 and up

Season: May 29 – July 31

Games: Thursday evenings

Cost: $275 per team

Summer T-Ball and Coaches’ Pitch

YMCA Baseball is an instructional and recreational league. Younger participants will be introduced to the game and learn basic skills such as running the bases, catching, throwing and batting while older players will have the chance to play a more values-based competitive game to help improve their skills. The program will include a practice day and one game each week. All players will have fun in a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Ages:
3-5 year olds (co-ed): T-ball
6 – 9 year olds: Coaches’ Pitch

Registration: March 21 – May 24

Season: practice starts June 2, games played June 14-August 9 on Saturdays

Members: $38 / player

New Kettlebell Group Ex classes!

New Kettlebell Group Ex classes!

We are excited to announce the addition of kettlebells  at the Jeep Rogers Y! After April 12, instructors will begin incorporating kettlebells into some classes. Kettlebell classes will officially be on the May Group Exercise schedule.

Kettlebells offer a different kind of training using dynamic movements which target almost every aspect of fitness: strength, balance, agility and cardio endurance. These classes are perfect for any age and ability because you work out at your own pace and work many different muscle groups. Most exercises are done at a cardio pace for increased intensity, building muscular and cardio endurance all in one class.

Be on the lookout for these new classes:

-Intro to Kettlebells (30 minutes): Learn the basic movements and proper form for kettlebell training. Foundational exercises including swing, clean, press and snatch.

-Kettlebell Express (30 minutes): A powerful, nonstop circuit that includes swings, clean & press, Turkish get-ups, high-pulls, lunges and a variety of other lifts that develop strength, power, endurance, dynamic flexibility, precision and timing.

-Kettlebell Warrior (45 minutes): This is our advances level class that incorporates dynamic kettlebell lifts, plyometric and body weight exercises for an all-around heart-pounding workout.


Fun Night

Parents, enjoy a night out and leave your kids at the Jeep Rogers Y! There will be a 3-point shooting contest, volleyball tournament, indoor playground, dancing, music, swimming, prizes and more FUN!

Dates: First Friday of every month
***Note: There will be no Fun Night in May

Time: 7-10 p.m.

Ages: Kindergarten-8th grade

Cost: $5 admission, pay at the door
Concessions such as pizza, turkey wraps, and more for sale.
