It’s Game Time

More Soccer. More Fun. More Value. The South Carolina United FC YMCA Recreational Youth Soccer League serves nearly 5,000 Midlands youth who compete at six different venues throughout greater Columbia. Soccer encourages team play and individual skill development while having fun. Available for girls and boy, ages 4-18. Each team is guaranteed 7 out of 8 scheduled League Matches, weather permitting.

SEASON: March 7 – May 9, 2015

Practice begins week of February 23.

Register by February 1, 2015.

PLEASE NOTE:  Fall 2014 marked the first of the next four seasons in which the League’s new Uniform Kit must be purchased and worn by all registered players. If you are new to our club, please realize that once you have purchased the kit for $25 during the online registration process, your child will wear this same uniform kit for the Fall 2014, Spring 2015, Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 seasons.  Please take the potential growth of your child over the next 30 months into account when placing your child’s uniform order.

Winter Break Lifeguard Certification Class

Do you want to become a certified lifeguard? Now is your chance to get an American Red Cross certification!

Days and Times:
Monday, December 29, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, December 30, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Friday, January 2, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Participant must attend all class dates and times and pass American Red Cross prerequesites of a 300 yard swim, retrieve a 10lb brick from bottom of pool, and tread water for 2 minutes. Class will give each participant skills to perform the duties that are required to be a lifeguard. Through videos, class room time, pool instruction, and hands on practice, participants will learn all rescue skills needed for a lifeguard job. Successful completion of the class will make participant certified in CPR, AED, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.

Winter Youth Basketball

Registration: December 1, 2014 – January 4, 2015
($15 late registration fee until January 11)

Ages: 3 – 14

Season: January 31 – March 14, 2015

Basketball encourages team play and individual skill development while having fun. Participants will focus on skill development, teamwork, and character development and make friends along the way. Each team will practice once per week and have weekly Saturday games for an eight game season. Participants will receive a game jersey.

Cost:
Members: $38
Non-members: $68

Winter Break Camp

Bring your kids to the Y over winter break! We’ll discover new things while participating in holiday-themed activities.

Two week camp: December 22, 2014 – January 2, 2015 (except December 24-25 & December 31-January 1)

Ages: 5-12

Preregistration is required to attend.

Times: Drop off starts at 7 a.m. and pick up by 6 p.m.

Cost: $105 members/$155 non-members

Winter Pre-Season Basketball Clinic

Fundamental clinic for kids with former 8-time NBA All-Star, basketball hall of famer, NBA scoring champion and Denver Nuggets all-time leading scorer Alex English. Each participants will get quality instruction, a t-shirt and a meal.

Performance Training for Kids

Our Youth Sports Performance curriculum is a 4-week program designed to teach proper running technique, coordination, agility and strength as a foundation to improving overall performance for young athletes. The program also teaches the benefits of injury prevention and flexibility in their sport of choice. Each session will contain new and exciting ways to keep your child focused and having fun. Equipment used: ladders, parachutes, plyo boxes, vertical jump tester, sleds and more! Certified personal trainers will be instructing.

Cost: $85 members/$100 non-members for 8 classes per session

Home School Swim and Gym

Ages: 4-16

Home schooled youth can enjoy the many opportunities the Y has to offer also. Certified, passionate, and enthusiastic instructors will teach your child more fundamentals of physical activities with lessons involving team concepts, sports development, and so much more. The program will follow core values of the Y (caring, respect, responsibility, honesty, and faith).
