Foods to Satisfy Your Heart and Your Waistline

Want to learn to cheat your tastebuds? Learn 10 replacements for high fat ingredients to lose the calories but not the taste. You can still enjoy your holiday favorites without the guilt after. Jill Benns, Director of Nursing Education for Palmetto Health will teach you all of this and more. And there might even be snacks!

Flu Shots and Health Screenings provided by Palmetto Health

Palmetto Health will be providing flu shots and health screenings at the Downtown, Jeep Rogers and NorthWest branches!


Flu shots will be $30 and can be paid in cash or check. Note: Palmetto Health will not be able to file insurance.
Downtown Y: Tuesday, October 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Jeep Rogers Y: Wednesday, October 22, 7 a.m. to noon
NorthWest Y: Thursday, October 23, 7 a.m. to noon


Health screenings are FREE and will consist of blood pressure, height, weight and body mass index.

Fall Fest at Jeep

Are you looking for a fun, FREE, family-friendly event to enjoy this Halloween?? Visit the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA on Friday, October 24 for the Fall Fest! There will be a bounce house, crafts, DJ, games, trick-or-treating and more! Costumes are welcomed and encouraged. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign, which ensures no one is turned away from YMCA programs or services due to inability to pay.

Couch to Harborside Lights 5K

Allow one of our dedicated coaches help you conquer your first 5k! This 8-week program will help any participant go from not running at all to completing all 3.1 miles. You will meet two times a week with your coach, while meeting separately as a group for your homework run. Sign up today and take the first steps to going the distance!

Ages: 15 and up
Dates: Begins week of October 20
Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. (Days/times subject to change due to participant preference.)

Members: $75
Non-members: $100

*Program fees includes the registration and t-shirt for the YMCA’s Harborside Lights 5K held on Saturday, December 13 at the Jeep Rogers YMCA!

Winter Pre-Season Basketball Clinic

Fundamental clinic for kids with former 8-time NBA All-Star, basketball hall of famer, NBA scoring champion and Denver Nuggets all-time leading scorer Alex English. Each participants will get quality instruction, a t-shirt and a meal.

Performance Training for Kids

Our Youth Sports Performance curriculum is a 4-week program designed to teach proper running technique, coordination, agility and strength as a foundation to improving overall performance for young athletes. The program also teaches the benefits of injury prevention and flexibility in their sport of choice. Each session will contain new and exciting ways to keep your child focused and having fun. Equipment used: ladders, parachutes, plyo boxes, vertical jump tester, sleds and more! Qualified staff will be instructing.

Cost: $85 members/$100 non-members for 8 classes per session

Kids Culinary Class

YMCA Afterschool and WT Café are partnering to bring culinary classes to the Jeep Rogers Y! The program includes 4 classes: Reading Nutritional Labels, How to Make an Easy Afternoon Snack, Baking is a Science, and Let’s Prepare a Meal (and let the parents come try the food!). Parents will be invited at the end of each session so they may sample/taste what the children in class have learned to prepared. Classes will be divided into one-hour classes by age group.

Cost: $45 for afterschool participants/$50 for non-afterschool participants (includes meal for each class)

Days: Wednesdays

K – 2nd grade: 4:30-5:30 p.m.
3rd grade and up: 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Fall: October 8, October 15, October 22, October 29

Proceeds from the Pumpkin Run will support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign to make the Y available to everyone through scholarships and financial assistance.

Morning Mayhem
