- To improve the nation’s health and well-being through combating obesity and chronic disease by providing the support and resources people need to make positive change.
- To give back and support our neighbors by empowering people with the resources to improve their lives and connect and contribute to the community, such as with job training, housing, newcomer services and opportunities to advocate for social change.
- To offer programs and services to children, adults and families who need financial assistance.
When you give to the Y, your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood. Remember, A donation of your time is also a valuable contribution.

John’s Story – YMCA Parkinson’s Program
After learning his insurance wouldn’t cover additional physical therapy, John Moffett’s physical therapist recommended the YMCA of Columbia’s Parkinson’s Program. Follow John’s journey as the Y helped him battle loneliness and face the physical and mental challenges of his illness.
Through the generosity of our community, John was able to receive a scholarship that allowed him the opportunity to heal. This is his story.
