Youth Soccer
At the YMCA of Columbia our mission is to provide an avenue for players of any skill level to participate and enjoy the game of soccer. All players will develop basic skills through practices and apply what they’ve learned during weekly games. Our league focuses on sportsmanship, fun, and family involvement!
We encourage family involvement through volunteer coaching. All coaches will receive training and guidance, as well as a 50% Coaches Credit on player registration. Please contact your branch Sports Director if interested.
Note: Ages 8-15 may have games at surrounding Columbia YMCA branches.

LOCATION: Jeep Rogers, NorthWest, and Downtown at Owens Field
COST: (Registration fee includes jersey)
Ages 3-5: Member $40, Nonmember $70
Ages 6-9: Member $65, Nonmember $95
Ages 10-15: Member $70, Nonmember $100

Regular Registration: June 10-August 4, 2024
Late Registration: August 5-11 ($25 Late Fee)
First Practice: Week of August 19th
First Game: September 7, 2024
Last Game: October 19, 2024
Note: Any games canceled due to weather related issues will be rescheduled at the end of the season.
Skill Development and Sportsmanship
In our YMCA Soccer League, players have the opportunity to develop their soccer skills while fostering important values such as sportsmanship and fair play. Through engaging practices and competitive games, participants improve their technical abilities, tactical understanding, and teamwork. Our dedicated coaches emphasize the importance of respect, cooperation, and positive interactions on and off the field. Join us to enhance your soccer skills and build character that extends beyond the game.
Family Involvement and Volunteer Coaching
We believe that family involvement is essential to the success of our soccer program. Parents and guardians have the opportunity to contribute to the league as volunteer coaches, creating a supportive and engaging environment for their children. As a coach, you will receive training and guidance from our experienced Branch Sports Directors, ensuring that you feel prepared and empowered to make a positive impact on young athletes. Get involved, make lasting memories, and support your child’s soccer journey.
Convenient Locations and Competitive Opportunities
Our YMCA Soccer League takes place at three convenient locations: Downtown (Owens Field), Jeep Rogers (Lake Carolina), and North West (Irmo). You can choose the branch that best suits your needs and enjoy the convenience of local play. For ages 8-14, there may be opportunities for travel games to other YMCA of Columbia branches, offering a chance to compete against teams from different locations.
