Give What You Can – Annual Food Drive

Right now, many families across the Midlands are facing growing food insecurity. With uncertainty surrounding SNAP benefits and the ongoing government shutdown, local food banks are experiencing a surge in demand — and they need our help.

Each year, the YMCA of Columbia hosts GIVE WHAT YOU CAN, our annual food drive dedicated to helping our neighbors in need. We’re calling on our members, staff, and friends to come together once again and show just how generous YMCA members can be.

Your generosity will directly benefit:

  • Sharing God’s Love: This organization provides food, clothing, and other essential items to families in need in Richland County.
  • Mission Lexington: Mission Lexington offers a variety of programs and services to help individuals and families overcome poverty and achieve self-sufficiency in Lexington County.
  • The Samaritan House (Paper Goods Drive): Located in Orangeburg County, The Samaritan House provides shelter, food, and clothing to homeless individuals and families. (View List)

By donating, you’re helping to ensure these organizations can continue providing vital support to those who need it most.

How You Can Help
Drop off nonperishable food items in the collection bins located in the lobby of your YMCA branch. Every can, box, or bag you contribute will help a local family put food on the table. View list of preferred donation items.
