Splash into Summer – Orangeburg and Santee Water Parks Open Last Weekend in May!

The YMCA of Columbia is thrilled to announce the opening of our water parks for summer 2024, offering a refreshing escape for families and fun seekers of all ages.

The Santee Water Park (1761 Bass Drive, Santee, SC 29142) will open May 25th, 26th, and 27th and the Orangeburg Water Park (2550 St. Matthews Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118) opens its doors on Saturday, June 1st.

Member Spotlight: Meet Annette

Parkinson’s Disease is a neurological condition which manifests by slowness of movement and stiffness, among other symptoms.  In 2016 the YMCA of Columbia, in a collaborative effort with members of the physical therapy community, created a pilot project, offering a class designed for Parkinson’s patients. The class includes stretching, strengthening, aerobic, and balance exercises, all of which address the physical issues of Parkinson’s Disease.  The class has continued since that time and grown enough to be offered at several “Y” locations.

2024 Race to Remember 5K and 1-mile Fun Run, Saturday, May 25

The YMCA of Columbia Race to Remember is a 5K Run or Walk and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run that takes place in Historic Downtown Columbia on Saturday, May 25.  This race is great for all levels of ability and ages. Participants are encouraged to carry a flag or wear dog-tags to remember and honor military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice to serve the United State of America.
