Downtown YMCA Race to Remember
Join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, for the YMCA of Columbia’s Race to Remember 5K in Historic Downtown Columbia, SC. This Memorial Day weekend 5K run/walk and Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run is open to all ages and abilities, making it the perfect event for families and individuals across the Midlands.
Honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country by carrying a flag or wearing dog tags during the race.
New this year: All participants will receive a special 250th Anniversary of the United States commemorative T-shirt, celebrating this historic milestone.
All proceeds benefit the YMCA of Columbia’s Annual Campaign, providing financial assistance for children, families, and individuals in our community. A portion of funds will support a YMCA membership scholarship for a Veteran.

REGISTRATION FEES:
- Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run: $10 run/$15 run & shirt
- 5K Regular: $35
- 5K Day of Race (May 23): $50 (shirt based on availability)
RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
- 7:00 am – Packet pickup & Late registration
- 8:00 am – Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run
- 8:30 am – 5K Race Start (MAP)
- 9:35 am – Awards Ceremony

Why Sponsor? All race proceeds support the Y’s Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to those who need the Y’s life-changing programs and services the most. Part of the proceeds from this year’s race will go towards YMCA Membership Scholarships for Veterans. The Y also offers reduced membership for military personnel through our partnership with Fort Jackson.
