Join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, for the YMCA of Columbia’s Race to Remember 5K in Historic Downtown Columbia, SC. This Memorial Day weekend 5K run/walk and Kids’ 1-Mile Fun Run is open to all ages and abilities, making it the perfect event for families and individuals across the Midlands.

Honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country by carrying a flag or wearing dog tags during the race.

Downtown Camps 2026

TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP (ages 4-12)

Campers will build self-confidence through character education, teamwork, and sportsmanship while gaining independence as they nurture their spirits, challenge their minds, and strengthen their bodies. Our Traditional Camp is offered at select Richland One schools, with a healthy breakfast and lunch provided by the school district.

Campers must be 4 years old by June 1, 2026.

RICHLAND ONE LOCATIONS:

  • Mill Creek Elementary (925 Universal Drive, Columbia, SC 29209)
  • South Kilbourne Elementary (1400 S. Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 290205)

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Downtown YMCA – Counselor in Training Camp

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING CAMP (Ages 14-15)

The CIT Program is officially “The Future Leader Place!” Teens develop leadership skills through mentorship and hands-on experience assisting with camp programs. Requires application and interview (due May 1) and training on May 16. Participants must commit to four weeks. 

When: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-4:00 pm

Cost per Week: Members $70, Nonmembers $90
