Teacher Appreciation Week at the Y – May 8-12!
Calling all teachers! Teachers are always caring for others, and that’s why we want to give you time to care for YOU! This teacher appreciation week, you can enjoy free visits to the Y just by showing your teacher ID card at the front desk. Visit the Downtown, NorthWest or Ballentine locations, May 8 – 12 and we will give you a free guest pass for the week. Enjoy our state of the art wellness centers, fitness classes, walking track & gym (NorthWest only), and more. You deserve it!

Jeep – Swim Lesson Coordinator
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and directs instructors as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance as required. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complet Creates and schedules swim classes, Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.

Volunteer at the Pumpkin Run!
We need you! Volunteers are needed for the Pumpkin Run volunteer stations! Help with parking, be a race course guide, or attend to water stations.
Volunteers should arrive Oct. 22 by 7:30am and check in at the volunteer table in the lobby of Northwest Y. Activities should be wrapped up by 10am. The Y will provide safety vests for volunteers.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign, which provides financial assistance to those in our community who need the Y’s life-changing programs and services. Your volunteer commitment is truly a service to your community.

Due to inclement weather, the Orangeburg County YMCA will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30 and will resume normal business hours Saturday, Oct. 1.

Basketball Clinic – NorthWest Family YM CA
We are excited to partner with Allen University to offer a one-day Fall Basketball Clinic. This Clinic will be taught by the Allen University Women’s Basketball team and coaches. Participants will be split into groups by age to learn and improve fundamentals, growing their mental and physical abilities.
