FACILITY OPERATIONS (Updated 05/22/2020)

What are your current hours of operation?

Monday – Thursday:  5:00 am to 9:00 pm
Friday:  5:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday:  1:00 pm to 5:30 pm

How are you protecting your members and staff? How have you prepared for social distancing?
We have prepared our branches for social distancing by spacing out equipment, alternating our treadmill and cardio usage to every other machine, and by limiting capacity in the facility and in classes so everyone has the recommended six feet of space.

Our staff are receiving training on how to implement safety guidelines that the CDC, State and City officials have put into place. This includes deep cleaning after the facilities are closed, making sure equipment is sanitized after each use, and stocking an ample amount of EPA-approved disinfectant and sanitizer near high-touch areas throughout our facilities.

All staff are required to answer a brief series of health screening questions and will have their temperature taken. Those who have a temperature of 100.4 and higher will not be allowed access to the facility.

Are you limiting the number of people who can enter the building?
Yes. We are currently allowing 5 people for every 1,000 square foot of space.  We have maximum capacities for each activity space as well as for the facility as a whole.  Staff will be monitoring capacity of each space and members will be allowed entry based on maximum capacity.  

Will childwatch be available?
Childwatch is currently unavailable.  We will resume at a later date and reservations may be required to reserve spots.

Will I be able to participate in group exercise classes?
Yes. Class sizes will be limited to allow for a social distance of six feet.  Group exercise schedules will change week-to-week depending on instructor availability.  Please check our website ‘Schedules‘ page for the weekly updates.

We are currently working on an electronic sign-up so that members may reserve spots and will supply more information once we have a system in place.

SilverSneakers classes will begin on June 1.

Can I access the gymnasium/basketball courts?
No. In an effort to curb contact sports the gymnasium is currently unavailable.  We hope to open the gymnasium in a later phase once social distancing guidelines have been relaxed by State and local officials.

Will the pool be available?
The pool is currently available for lap swim only (1 person per lane). We encourage members to limit their lap usage to 45 minutes.  This will help us control capacity and allow greater members access.

Starting June 1, we will allow three swimmers per lane, family swim and group exercises. We are still limiting the number of people allowed in the pool area due to social distancing guidelines.

Is personal training available?
Yes. One-on-one personal training is available, but face masks will be required for both individuals and social distancing guidelines adhered to.

When will I be able to use the steam/sauna room?
Our steam and sauna rooms are currently closed due to DHEC suggested guidelines but will available starting June 1.  Please note that the Steam/Sauna will have limited capacity to allow for social distancing.

Can I bring a guest with me?
Due to restrictions on capacity some branches are not issuing guest passes at this time.  Please contact your local branch for more information.

CHILD PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Will summer camp still be available?
We will still have summer camp at our Jeep Rogers and NorthWest location.  Camp will begin on June 8 and registration is currently open. Click here for more information.

The Downtown branch will not be able to operate summer camp this year. Due to COVID-19, school sites are unavailable for our use.  Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. 

What if I have already registered/paid for the Downtown Summer Camp?
Refunds will be issued to those who have already registered for the Downtown camp.  For more information, please contact Matt Taranto.

Will my child be able to participate in sports programming?
Outdoor sports and swim programs will resume on June 1.  Please be patient as we bring sports and swim lessons back online.  If you have specific questions about any of our sports programs, please contact your YMCA Branch.

Will my child be able to resume swim team practice?
Swim team will be allowed to resume starting June 1.

Are your facilities available for birthday parties?
We are currently not registering for any rentals or birthday parties.  We will resume registration when social distancing recommendations relax.
