ABOUT NATE STEPHENS

Nate Stephens’ love of sports started at the age of 4 when his mother Robin enrolled him in youth soccer at their local YMCA.  He grew up playing soccer and made lifelong friends in the process.  As he became older that passion for soccer eventually turned to golf.

“When our son Nate died it devastated all of us and we questioned how to make anything positive out of such a tragedy,” explained Robin.  “All of us – friends, co-workers, and family – wanted to do something to remember Nate that would have a positive impact on our community.  That’s when we came up with a golf tournament that would benefit youth sports.”

The Nate Stephens Memorial Youth Sports Scholarship helps ensure that every child, regardless of financial circumstances, has an opportunity to participate in team sports at the Y.

“We want every child to have a chance to make lifelong friends and experience the positive impact that team sports provide,” said Robin.

2022 will be the 3rd year for the Nate Stephens Memorial Golf Tournament. Year one raised over $13,000 and year two almost doubled donations, topping $24,000. This year, they hope to raise even more!
