The YMCA is Giving Back this Holiday Season

The YMCA of Columbia is giving back to those in need this Holiday Season! Several of our branch locations have selected a charity to champion.

Downtown YMCA – Donations Due Dec. 10
Our Downtown YMCA is supporting Toys for Tots! The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children with an emphasis on military children this year. A donation box is located in the lobby of the Downtown Y. Unwrapped toys may be dropped off now through Friday, Dec. 10. Please help us fill our Toys for Tots Box!

Jeep Rogers Family YMCA – Donations Due Dec. 13
Be an Angel this Holiday Season! Help out a family in need and bring a smile to a child’s face this Christmas. Each year the Jeep Rogers YMCA works with Richland School District Two to provide gifts for local children in need.Pick an ornament from our Angel Tree. Each ornament contains a child’s wish list. Select a gift and return it unwrapped with the ornament to the  Jeep Rogers Family YMCA by Dec. 13.

NorthWest and Ballentine Family YMCA – Completed
Each year the Ballentine and NorthWest Family Y participates in Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners with shoeboxes that volunteers fill with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children around the world with news of Jesus Christ. Shoe boxes are shipped to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease.
