The YMCA of Columbia is now hiring lifeguards and swim instructors at three locations – Jeep Rogers, NorthWest and Orangeburg!
YMCA lifeguards are responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and surrounding areas. They also create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.
Not certified? Don’t worry, we’ll teach you. We’re now offering lifeguard courses at all of our pool locations. Learn more about dates, times and locations. Lifeguard Classes

Our goal at the Orangeburg County YMCA is to train, certify and hire 50 new lifeguards and swim instructors this Fall. Please don’t let cost be a barrier to those willing to serve our community. A pledge of $225 will cover the cost of our Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course.

Join Instructor Summer for a Preview of Floor Fusion! This NEW class incorporates elements of pilates, yoga, body sculpting and more. From head to toe, the Floor Fusion class will stretch you out, improve your range of joint movement, and reinforce the “powerhouse” of your body… the core.
This one hour class will leave you feeling strong, limbered and refreshed. Options are given for all levels of experience, including the option to be seated in a chair.

Orangeburg County YMCA Natatorium Closed Until Thursday, Feb. 24

The Orangeburg County YMCA Natatorium is currently closed and will not be available for use until Thursday, Feb. 24*. A Natatorium window was damaged, and while being replaced glass entered the competition pool. For safety reasons, the therapy pool will also be closed.
All swim lessons and water aerobics classes have been cancelled during this period.
We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the safety of our members and guests remains our top priority. Thank you for your understanding as we work to complete cleanup as quickly as possible.
